00:00:00: Welcome back to Sweet But Salty.
00:00:02: Major voice crack alert!
00:00:06: Welcome Back To Sweet But salty again, are you kidding me?
00:00:12: welcome back to sweet but salty the bliss point of podcasts and welcome to this very special episode.
00:00:18: I say this every single time.
00:00:21: last week's episode was special.
00:00:23: This weeks episode is a little less special.
00:00:26: i'm still happy that your tuning in.
00:00:29: So last week I announced that i have released a single, A piece of music to the world.
00:00:36: And yeah...I'm just so excited that so many people liked it and got very positive feedback from my extended family mainly.
00:00:46: but just really feels good.
00:00:48: and yeah, I'm just happy to express myself in an authentic way.
00:00:53: And get positive feedback for that.
00:00:57: it's a very special feeling if you're artist or creative person That means and what that feels like, it's just great.
00:01:07: And my next single is already planned in my head!
00:01:11: I have a very specific idea for the video... ...and i am looking forward to working on it.. ..and getting it mixed & mastered.
00:01:20: so yeah- So I have alot of fun and ummm....I'm very very excited.
00:01:27: But thats not todays topic, that was just a little tangent.
00:01:31: The title already reveals today's topic, which is that I quit.
00:01:37: And i don't mean podcasting-i'm in love with podcasting.
00:01:40: it's so much fun but i actually quit my job uh...which is a very bold move i guess because i haven't really applied for new jobs!
00:01:52: So it's a very interesting situation i'm in, I really want to take a few months to focus on art completely and to immerse myself in my creative endeavors.
00:02:04: It's something that I've never truly allowed myself to do because even when I studied design...I was working at the side then decided also study psychology which kind of interfered with each other.
00:02:22: analytical and scientific obviously, design is actually at least in the way I studied it quite artistic.
00:02:30: And so because i was so focused on getting good grades and performing well in both courses of study... ...I was very burnt out!
00:02:42: And couldn't really focus either I guess, in an appropriate way.
00:02:48: i still got good grades but then hindsight that's not the important part- The important part would have been being able to really immerse myself In my creativity and...in my creative expression And sort of honing craft and honing my style, which i didn't really allow myself to do back then.
00:03:07: so it was also due to the fact that maybe this style of drawing that I prefer because I love drawing and I loved drawing realistically or surrealistically...I don't know if that's actually word in English but I hope you know what I'm talking about like- I'm into realism and surrealism!
00:03:27: both those kinds of art didn't really have a place in my design studies because it was a lot more abstract and focused on different aspects of creation, I guess.
00:03:40: So i didn't way of creating to what was expected and what I was taught, was right.
00:03:56: And that's not too criticize anyone or the school i was studying at it.
00:04:04: just a thing in design you have come up against.
00:04:10: So here I am!
00:04:12: I'm like three weeks out from being unemployed or not necessarily that, but it's like a month until I'm officially unemployed and... ...I just feel like i want to explore more in the meantime.
00:04:29: And allow myself really be creative and being an artist.. ..and kind of just know- and take a glimpse at what it feels like for me as an artist you know?
00:04:38: To become somewhat self employed responsible for your own time and i think it's gonna be a very, very intense and interesting time in my life that I am very grateful for.
00:04:52: And...that..I also don't take for granted at all!
00:04:56: This is not at all a recommendation for you to quit your job without having a new one or two just blindly follow your impulses.
00:05:08: This is something I have thought through, so it's really... Just something i'm doing and i'm sharing with you because i feel like It can help someone if i share this.
00:05:19: So that kind of the idea behind my entire podcast Is to share personal insights And things i've learned while hoping That it helps someone or inspires someone.
00:05:29: These were My news for this new episode.
00:05:34: I really hope you enjoyed it, if you did please make sure to subscribe and rate my podcast wherever your listening.
00:05:42: And next week i'll be back as always on Sunday.

00:05:48: Bye.
